EVA is a hospital oriented AR experience which aims to offer an educational yet entertaining experience to children who appear traumatic stress at the hospital

Background

Things can be traumatic to children

Deficiencies in minerals can lead to severe problems. To ensure the kids enough minerals for healthy development, most parents choose to do blood tests as it provides accurate results

However, many kids appear traumatic stress towards the hospital. Common symptoms of traumatic stress can be uncooperative, easily upset or angry, feeling anxious, and feeling empty

Hospital Related Fears

children are afraid of at least one thing in a hospital, and the traumatic symptoms are common due to the negative experience; however, it could cause life-long effects

Interview

Online surveys and offline interviews are conducted to acknowledge kids’ attitudes towards the hospital from parents and children

Empathy Map

Children expressed their fears towards hospitals are mostly caused by needle phobia and unfamiliar environment. In order to reduce the intensity of negative feelings, the use of play is considered.

Based on the identified pain points, the needs and offerings are listed to ideate what could be helpful to cope the current problem

Ideation

During the interview, kids were asked to describe and show their favorite cartoon characters. Most of them have claimed their preferences towards superhero and magic power
