The Concept
Go! Design Community Festival is a community-themed design carnival, encouraging designers and residents to participate together in community design. The event aims to merge "design + community + sports, develop local cultural exchange and artistic activities in the forms of exhibitions, symposiums and workshops to build a more humanistic public gathering place.
The exhibition "Unusual Playground" crafted unconventional sports venue, integrating spatial design, interactive installations, and visual arts, pioneers a fresh narrative, embracing the fusion of community, sports, and design, it prompts discussions and challenges conventional boundaries within the realm of sports.
Research + Brainstorm
Through an exhibition, How can we engage the public in exploring new ways of sports from three dimensions: people, sports equipment, and spaces?

Our team want to discuss in an unusual way, sharing our unusual thoughts when riding unusual bicycle.
Can exercise only be completed individually?
What if creating new types of sports equipment that encourage the public to experience "solo exercises" through an interactive experience.
Can sports equipments/venues be different sizes?
What if creating unconventional-scale sports equipments or venues that engage the public to challenge the traditional and redefine sports ?
Does Exercise Only Occur in Specific Places?
Where do you typically exercise? What if redefining exercise spaces and blur the identity boundaries of places, enabling exercise anytime, anywhere.



Opportunity
For the exhibition, we want to build a unusual sports venues, combining relevant installations, literature, and visual images for discussion and contemplation.
The Approach

Research various types of sports, focusing on the size, shape, and color of the court, to design potential look of the space.

Purchase various sports accessories, placed them in the neighbourhood for interaction with residents. Through the interaction, we aim to explore different sports methods, acquiring more inspirations for the interactive installations.

Purchase various types sports-related books, browsing through the content that is potentially aligns with the unusual playground which can be presented to the public?

Spatial Design
Collaborated with Mixc, we are curating the new exhibition in their new gallery: MIXC WORLD WITH ART Gallery.

Vibrantly coloured indoor tennis court, considering the layout and lighting positions indoors. The area. present the unusual tennis court and interactive installations as it receive natural light from the large window, be the reading area with sufficient lightings.





Photoshoot & Reading Area
Visitors are encouraged to delve into the world of unusual sports books, and photography peruse literature discussing the artistry within sports using various mediums, and embrace a new perspective on sports.

The Visuals
In terms of visual presentation, we also aim to interact with the public through unusual visual presentation. Collaborating with artist Boilingman, we've created corresponding visual materials to captivate the public's attention.






Feedbacks

Through the exhibition of this unusual playground, The ultimate goal is to convey that art and design are accessible and integral parts of life. Design has the ability to intertwine with your everyday experiences, whether through sports or various other methods, ultimately contributing to an enhanced quality of life.
